Exploring China with TripADeal: A Once-in-a-Lifetime Journey with My Mum

Exploring China with TripADeal: A Mother-Daughter Adventure

March this year, I had the opportunity to travel to China with my mum on a tour organised by TripADeal—and it ended up being one of the most memorable experiences. As someone who didn’t really know what to expect from visiting China, I was blown away by the culture, the history, (not so much) the food, and the ease of travel throughout the country.

From the moment we boarded our Air China flight, the adventure began. The service was great, and the meals on the flight over exceeded our expectations—something you don’t always get on long-haul flights!

Navigating China: Smooth, Secure & Surprisingly Familiar

One of the first things that struck me about travelling in China was how organised and secure the transport systems are. Moving around often felt like being at an international airport—passport checks, security scans, and tight protocols are standard even for domestic travel. It added a sense of safety and structure to the trip but very busy.

We also got to ride China’s famous high-speed trains a few times, which were not only super-efficient but also a fun part of the journey in themselves. A real highlight was the maglev (magnetic levitation) train in Shanghai—such a surreal, futuristic experience flying through the city at incredible speed!

Highlights of ourTrip

There were so many unforgettable moments, but here are the top highlights from our China adventure:

  • 🧱 The Great Wall of China – Nothing prepares you for the scale and beauty of this iconic structure. Standing atop it with my mum was a once-in-a-lifetime moment.

  • 🧭 The Maglev Train – The speed and innovation were unlike anything I’ve experienced before. It felt like a glimpse into the future of travel.

  • 🏺 Terracotta Warriors – Seeing the thousands of life-sized warriors in Xi’an was awe-inspiring. The scale and craftsmanship are mind-blowing.

  • 💎 Jade Factory Tour – A peaceful break from sightseeing where we learned about jade’s cultural significance in China and saw master artisans at work. Spent too much in this shop though 🙈

Final Thoughts: Why This Trip Meant So Much

Travelling with my mum made this journey even more meaningful. From sharing quiet moments over tea to hiking parts of the Great Wall together, the experience deepened our bond in a way that only travel can.

Thanks to TripADeal, the whole process—from flights to accommodation to activities—was smooth and well-organised.
If you’ve ever considered exploring China but felt unsure where to start, I’d highly recommend this kind of guided travel.
